The Perimeter of Hope
The need for a new paradigm
In 2014, four friends, each with personal experiences in dealing with a neurological disease or disorder (NDD), were having a discussion about many of the difficulties that usually emerge when an individual receives an NDD. During that discussion, they came to the realization that the majority of those difficulties were of a non-medical nature. Then the discussion turned to answer the following question: “Where can a newly diagnosed NDD patient and their family go to receive unbiased help and guidance in finding solutions that address the difficult non-medical challenges brought on by an NDD?”
Unfortunately, the answer was not a simple one. The difficulty of answering this question was the impetus for the founding of The Foundation Institute for Neurological Diseases, dba Find Neuro Help, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit private foundation, headquartered in Irvine, California.
As mentioned before, each of the founders of Find Neuro Help has personal experiences dealing with an NDD. One suffered a Stroke, has a son with Epilepsy, and had a father-in-law with Alzheimer’s. The second has Parkinson’s. The third has family members suffering from Major Depressive Disorder. And the fourth has a grandson with Autism and had a mother who suffered from Major Depressive Disorder. They realized that many individuals diagnosed with an NDD lacked access to a caring, credentialed, single-source organization that could provide them with solutions to some of the most pressing concerns created by an NDD diagnosis.
To address this issue, the founders of Find Neuro Help, using their personal experiences, and the feedback from many other NDD patients and their families, created a proprietary service model called the “Perimeter of Hope“.
The Find Neuro Help Perimeter of Hope is focused on addressing the practical needs of patients and families that have been impacted by an NDD. At its center are the patient and their family. The perimeter is comprised of solutions and services that are the most exigent but are often neglected or overlooked. Left unattended, they can pose a significant risk to the peace of mind and stability of the NDD patient and their family.
The Perimeter of Hope includes Mental Health and Well-being Services, Financial Planning and Retirement Services, Estate Planning and Legal Assistance, Housing, Relocation, and Real Estate Services, Education Planning and Tuition Assistance, Medical Research and Information Services.
Find Neuro Help takes the patient and their family under our wing and we become a caring advocate, guide, and life-coach for them. We take the time to discuss with them their unique situation and needs and then create an individualized plan base upon those discussions. Then, acting as their advocate we contact pre-vetted services providers, monitor their interaction with our client families, and ensure they receive appropriate solutions and services that address their needs and concerns.
All Perimeter of Hope services are provided by industry-leading professionals that have years of experience and are licensed or credentialed to practice in their chosen field of expertise.
The response that Find Neuro Help has received from those we have helped has been very inspirational and motivating. We look forward to helping many more families and expanding the Find Neuro Help mission; however, in order to accomplish this we depend upon generous donations from the public. Donations made to Find Neuro Help are tax deductible and are used to bring hope and healing to hundreds of patients and their families.
